Trujillo Peru Temple becomes the 147th temple in operation

With the dedication of the Trujillo Peru Temple on June 21, there are now 147 temples in operation around the world. It follows the dedication of the Cordoba Argentina Temple on May 17 and the Payson Utah Temple on June 7.

Elder L. Tom Perry was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and started radiation treatment on April 24,2015. Despite still being under medical care, he continued to do church business and receive visitors, according to the Mormon Newsroom.

Paying tithing online

Tithing and other donations to the LDS Church will soon be available to pay online, says church officials. This new method hits the United States this year and will be gradually available to the whole nation throughout 2015.

96 and counting: Calvin Newby draws closer to goal of visiting 100 temples

Calvin Newby, a retired military veteran from Idaho, was diagnosed with liposarcoma, a rare cancer of the connective tissues, in 2010 at the age of 53. Because of this, he decided to speed up his efforts to finish his lifelong goal of visiting and doing ordinances in 100 different temples.

Church's donation to Red Cross represents the church well, students say

BYU-Hawaii students said they thought donating $1.8 million of the proceeds of the film “Meet the Mormons” to the American Red Cross shows the world who the people of the LDS Church really are.
