Students were asked about their worst and best Valentine's Days. Here are their responses.

1. Scott "Scooter" Kemsley, a senior majoring in psychology from Texas.

BEST:
"For Valentine’s Day, I got tickets to a Muse concert from my girlfriend. It was a sick show too."

WORST:
"Last Valentine’s Day I made chocolate covered strawberries, in this bouquet kind of thing, but it took me 29 tries to do it because I didn't know how to melt chocolate. I thought you put the chocolate in the pot and it would melt. But nope, you have to put it in a pot in another pot in water. So I had to call my mom and everything to figure out how to do it."

2. Hei Ng, a senior majoring in business finance from Hong Kong

BEST:
"My best Valentine’s Day is my first one when I was 15. I went to a restaurant with my ex-girlfriend and then we just had fun. It was my first Valentine's Day so it was kind of special."

WORST:
""The time I don't get to spend time with girls."

3. Tevita Inukiha'agana, a sophomore majoring in English from South Dakota

BEST:
"The best Valentine's Day is when I had a girlfriend. We went to the park, went to the movies. I kinda planned this scavenger hunt and I took her to some of my favorite places. We climbed the stairs of a library that was like six stories high and had a romantic picnic."

WORST:
"Getting dumped on Valentine’s Day was pretty bad. It's alright. I got a song out of it."

4. Joanne Wu, a freshman majoring in social work from Taiwan

BEST:
"It was when I was in my school and my boyfriend, my ex-boyfriend, took me to a fancy restaurant, and he bought a pair of rings."

WORST:
"When I found out the person I liked took someone else out for Valentine’s Day."

5. Rairateatu Tekanene, a sophomore majoring in elementary education from Kiribati

BEST:
"When my Valentine took me out, and we spent our time together….We had to wear the same thing and we had to dance. It was a formal dance."

WORST:
"We planned to go out, but it didn't work out. So I ended up staying at home. My plans got cancelled."

6. Katherine Newkirk, a senior majoring in political science from Utah

BEST:
"I love Valentine’s Day in Hawaii, where people have soul."

WORST:
"I generally don't care. It is just a day. I don't care that I am single. I don't care that I am not single."
