Intramurals incorporates President Tanner's vision to become 'robust program'

The newly formed Seasider Sports and Activities Department, formerly BYU-Hawaii Intramurals, is expanding the sports it offers and hours of operation in order to engage more students, said Brandyn Akana, the Seasider Sports and Activities Senior Manager.

Athletics program provided a source for missionary work at BYU-Hawaii, say students and faculty

BYU-Hawaii has had a lot of missionary influence on non-member athletes from all around the world, according to Sports Information Director Spencer Shamo. He estimated 11 athletes playing for BYU-Hawaii have been baptized into the LDS Church from 2010 through 2016.

Golf team member moved forward to be baptized in the LDS Church

Christian Pate, a senior studying finance from Las Vegas, Nevada and a player in BYU-Hawaii Golf Team, said he has been seeing many blessings since he started learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and became a member of the LDS Church on June 7, 2016.
