Senior guard Jiashan Cui led the BYU-Hawaii women’s basketball team to a 59-49 victory over visiting conference opponent Notre Dame de Namur Argonauts on Feb. 11. Cui led all players with 25 points, shooting 8-17 on the night. Valerie Nawahine also added 11 points for the Lady Seasiders.
The BYU-Hawaii men’s and women’s tennis team is hitting the courts once again for their 2016 season. With the start of the season for both teams about a month away, the men’s and women’s teams are hard at work preparing for what promises to be another successful year of tennis.
Led by Cory Lange, the BYU-Hawaii men’s basketball team defeated visiting conference opponent, the Dixie State University Red Storm, 95-83. Lange once again had the hot hand as he scored a team-high 22 points, including six three-pointers.
The BYU-Hawaii women’s basketball team lost in back-to-back conference games against Academy of Art and California Baptist University. Despite the 92-81 and 89-74 losses respectively, the Lady Seasiders played well against the top two teams in the conference.
The BYU-Hawaii Men’s basketball team lost in a nail-biting contest against visiting conference opponent California Baptist University, 98-94. Both teams were evenly matched throughout the game, as the game featured five ties and 11 lead changes.
