How do you handle the condensed classes of the summer term?
Battsatsral Tsogtsaikhan, a senior from Mongolia studying accounting, said, “I kind of like summer semesters because you don’t take too many classes. I take just the minimum credits, like two classes, but I want to take hard classes so I can focus on those. And if I get a good grade, it will raise my GPA.”
Jacob Moss, a junior from Oregon studying music composition, said, “I tend to take easier classes during the summer because I know it’s going to stack up on itself. I won’t take a class that will require tons and tons of reading. If I take an English class it’ll be like… wait, I have taken an English class before and it was a pain!”
Taylor Bobbitt, a senior from California studying psychology, said, “I like summer term because when you finish a term you’re done with a class in seven weeks. I like looking back and being like, ‘Wow, I did a class in seven weeks!’ I like the feeling of getting it done really quick and not having to endure hard crap for a really long time.”
Hannah Palmer, a junior from Utah studying biochemistry, said, “I handle it one day at a time, one step at a time. It’s just my same routine.”
Alexis Bongo, a sophomore from the Philippines studying business management, said, “Most of my classes during the summer term are hybrid classes - there’s some stuff you do online and there’s some stuff you do it class. I like that. I think it’s more convenient. I hate having to sit in class for two and a half hours.”
