October movies releases include expected blockbusters

After a summer of big blockbuster hits like "Jurassic World," "Inside Out," "Ant-Man," "Tomorrowland," "Minions," and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," this fall promises to attract an equal amount attention for movie goers, according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).

Although the fall has gotten off to a lackluster start in September with the sequel of Maze Runner being one of the few anticipated releases, October will bring a sure turn around for movie-goers. Listed are a few of the next hit-movies that will be released throughout the fall, courtesy of IMDB.

October 2: "The Martian" - The movie features Matt Damon as Mark Watney, an astronaut who is stranded on Mars after a fierce storm separated him from the rest of his crew. Now alone on Mars, Watney must draw upon his ingenuity and spirit to survive against all odds and get a signal to Earth that he is still alive.

“The Martian looks like it will be a great movie. It is definitely on my must watch list,” said Benjamin Crosland, a junior business major from Salt Lake City, Utah.

October 9: "Pan" - Director Joe Wright brings a new perspective on the classic Peter Pan story. This time the story is about a British, 12-year-old orphan Peter. It follows his story as discovers his destiny and become the legendary hero Peter Pan.

October 15: "The Peanuts Movie" - Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the gang come to the big screen. The classic family cartoon hits theatres as Snoopy and Charlie Brown embark on an epic quest.

October 16: "Bridge of Spies" - Tom Hanks plays the part of James Donovan, an American lawyer, who is recruited by the CIA to help negotiate the rescue of a pilot detained in the Soviet Union. Sent to East Germany, Donovan takes part of one of the most heated negotiations in history as he tries to avoid an outbreak of war between the United States and the Soviet Union.

“The trailer for this movie looks so good,” said Nathaniel Rhodes, a junior business major from Modesto, Calif. “I never heard the story before so it will be cool to learn about it.”

November 6: "Spectre" - November starts off with a bang as Daniel Craig once again portrays the British secret agent James Bond. In the fourth movie of this series, a message from Bond’s past throws him on the trail to uncover a sinister organization. Bond must peel back layers of deceit to uncover the truth behind Spectre.

“I have loved the recent James Bond movies. Daniel Craig has done a great job and this movie looks just as intense and good as the others,” said Trevor McCord, a senior psychology major from Sacrament, California.

November 20: "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" - The moment Hunger Games fans having been waiting for is almost here. In part 2 of the epic conclusion of the Hunger Games series, Katniss Everdeen leads the rebellion as they move against the Capitol.
