In a school where the general student body represents the United States, Asia and the Pacific Islands, Rahel Meyer, studying communication and media studies, and triple minoring in political science, peacebuilding and world languages, is one of few European students and was born and raised in Germany. She said she loves having the opportunity to be creative and establish herself in a career, and she loves the multicultural family she has made on campus.
The winner of an unofficial campus music streaming service poll appeared to be Spotify. In a recent survey conducted among BYU–Hawaii students, 65.5 percent of students reported using Spotify more than any other service, with 25.5 percent preferring Apple Music and 9 percent preferring other music streaming services including YouTube and Amazon Music.
The struggles of feeling failure and despair while also accepting God’s love is an issue students and faculty alike said they are facing. According to them, there is hope in following the commandments and patiently waiting for God.

A hearty “aloha” kicked off Seasider Sports and Activities’ second annual Canoe Race on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Polynesian Cultural Center where team Laie Social took home the trophy with a final record-breaking 1:58 race time. The race kicked off events for BYU–Hawaii's 65th anniversary.
History was made on Wednesday, Feb. 5 as the third impeachment trial in U.S. history came to a close with the acquittal of President Donald Trump. Students shared different opinions on the impeachment process, questioning whether it accomplished anything or further divided the American people.
