After sharing an early-morning breakfast on Aug. 30 outside the Cannon Activities Center, faculty and staff sat with their spouses to listen to President and Sister Tanner share messages alongside Elder Ringwood of the Seventy and his wife. Both couples encouraged those in attendance to lead through example by “lift[ing] and enlighten[ing]” the students.

Faculty and staff chant hiki mai for incoming students in a first for the university

New Student Experience (NSE) in combined efforts with the BYU-Hawaii President’s Council began two new traditions on Aug. 30 at the Cannon Activities Center. The hiki mai chant and the Mālamalama. Incoming students were encouraged to respect and love the community of Laie as well as to stay on the covenant path.

Salsa Band brings more married students to the Space Dance
